Sam Raimi and Robert G. Tapert's Ghost House Pictures has acquired the rights to the R.L. Stine novel The Sitter, which will be adapted into a movie entiteld Au Pair, according to Heat Vision Blog.

Dana Stevens will adapt the novel, which centers on a young woman who escapes an abusive relationship to become a nanny for a well-off family in the Hampton Mountains. The tale takes a turn for the worse when she discovers a secret that puts herself, and the kids she's caring, for in danger.

Sam Raimi, Robert G. Tapert, Sean Furst and Bryan Furst will produce the movie, with Nathan Kahane, Dana Stevens, Yvonne Bernard and Beth Elise Hawk executive producing.
