Just three days after actress Scarlett Johansson signed on for the lead in an upcoming live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, a trailer and poster have debuted for an all new anime adaptation from Toho. The movie is expected to debut in Japanese theaters sometime this summer, although it isn't known when it may arrive in the United States. Filmmaker Kazuchika Kise, who directed all four movies in the Ghost in the Shell: Arise series, returns to take the helm for this new adventure, although no story details have been revealed at this time.

Most of the voice cast members from Ghost in the Shell: Arise will return, including Maaya Sakamoto, Ikkyuu Juku, Kenichirou Matsuda, Tarusuke Shingaki, Shunsuke Sakuya, Takurou Nakakuni, Youji Ueda, Kazuya Nakai, and Miyuki Sawashiro, although no character names were given at this time. Kazuchika Kise will direct and design the characters, with Tow Ubukata writing the screenplay and Cornelius providing the score. Tooru Ookubo is also serving as chief animation director. The text shown in the trailer below is in Japanese, but you can take a look at the English translation below, before checking out the new footage for yourself.
