Annie Potts coyly admits to having a role in Jason Reitman's Ghostbusters 3 in a new interview. The actress played Janine Melnitz in the original Ghostbusters and the sequel, voiced the character in a video game, and made a cameo in the 2016 reboot with the rest of the surviving cast. Fans of the franchise have been wondering which members of the original cast will be coming back for the highly anticipated sequel after Reitman teased fans by letting them know the entire original cast has read his script last weekend at Ghostbusters Fan Fest.

The cat was pretty much out of the bag before the weekend festivities when an interview with Sigourney Weaver appeared online. The actress confirmed she was returning to reprise her role as Dana Barrett in Ghostbusters 3 and stated, "It's going to be crazy working with the guys again!" When asked about Weaver's recent comments in a new interview promoting Toy Story 4, Annie Potts had this to day.

"I have heard some things. If it's true, what I've heard... Yeah, I think it's gonna happen..."

When pressed further about Janine Melnitz returning, Annie Potts coyly said, "I think I will." This is even further proof Jason Reitman has reunited the surviving cast for Ghostbusters 3. But what about Rick Moranis? Louis Tully would be welcomed by fans and it would be great to see Moranis back on the big screen again. If Reitman can get Bill Murray, Annie Potts, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, and Dan Aykroyd, he can surely convince Moranis to come back, even if it's only for a cameo. Moranis has been out of the limelight for a while now, so it would be nice to see if he was convinced to return.

Jason Reitman is calling his upcoming sequel a "love letter" to the original and revealed he has found some unused footage from the 1984 Ghostbusters. Some of the footage was teased over the weekend at Fan Fest and the director hinted he will be incorporating some of it into Ghostbusters 3, though he played coy too. The rest of the previously unseen footage will be presented on the upcoming Blu-ray release of the original two installments. As for utilizing old footage, will Reitman be bringing back the late Harold Ramis for a cameo or two?

Ghostbusters 3 is looking like it's going to be an interesting project. In addition to the original cast, the sequel will focus on a new family, played by Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, and Carrie Coon. The family has a mysterious ties to the original Ghostbusters, but we're not sure what that means just yet. For the time being, it is believed Jason Reitman has come up with a great script, at least according to Dan Aykroyd, who is very excited to see this all finally happen after all of these years.
