It was /ghostbusters-3-eyeing-anna-farris/rumored on Wednesday that Anna Faris and Bill Hader were up for roles in the long awaited sequel Ghostbusters 3. Now, franchise creator Dan Aykroyd has come forward to confirm those rumors.

Bloody Disgusting learned from a reader that Aykroyd had appeared on WGN Radio in Chicago this past week, where he commented about the casting process on Ghostbusters 3. He stated that they definitely want to bring in some "fresh faces", and that Faris and Hader are at the top of his list for future Ghostbusters. Eliza Dushku's name was also mentioned, as previously rumored, and Dan confirmed that Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver will definitely return for this third movie.

No "official" casting announcements were made by Aykroyd in regards to the new Ghostbusters coming in to take over for Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, and himself. The comedian said that it was still too early to tell who will round out the cast. Columbia Pictures is eyeing a May 2011 start date for Ghostbusters 3. So expect an official announcement soon.
