There has been so much backlash over the Ghostbusters reboot cast, that one very cool addition seems to have become lost in all the white noise. While the main team of new haint hunters is lead by an ensemble of comedians, including Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, there is also one grizzled old bastard who's been added to the mix. And he's a familiar face that should make, at the very least, Game of Thrones fans very happy.

Yes, according to Inverse, Charles Dance has a very prominent role in director Paul Feig's upcoming franchise reboot. We're not sure if his role is a spoiler. But if you don't want to know what Charles Dance is up to in this horror comedy, we suggest you turn away now. Though we must say, it does sound kind of cool.

While Charles Dance isn't playing the main villain, he will be a villainous force to be reckoned with. And he will likely team with the main bad guy, played by Saturday Night Live vet Neil Casey. Casey is said to play the spirit of a gruesome murderer who goes on a mission to resurrect horrible historical figures to form his own spirit army that the new Ghostbusters must square off against. It's likely that Charles Dance is playing one of these historical ghosts in question.

At this time, Charles Dance's reps, as well as those working for Paul Feig, will not confirm or deny his presence in the movie. Though, Sony reps are said to have confirmed the news to Inverse. The actor is perhaps best known as Tywin Lannister on Game of Thrones. Charles Dance's co-star Peter Dinklage, interestingly, was an early contender for the main villain.

Along with the main crew, a number of cast members from the original 1984 Ghostbusters are confirmed to have cameos in the movie, which is said to be more scary than it is funny. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson will all appear in some capacity. Though, Rick Moranis turned the project down. Ozzy Osbourne will appear as himself at a rock concert that is over taken by evil spirits. And we'll likely see the return of Slimer.

While Charles Dance is no longer with Game of Thrones, having been dispatched in Season 4, he does have a few awaited projects coming up. He will appear in Underworld 5. And he stars as the iconic literary character Mr. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. what do you think? Is he the perfect match for Ghostbusters?
