It will be 9 long years since fans visited Stars Hallow when Gilmore Girls finally returns with new episodes. That's 63 in dog years. So poor Paul Anka must be getting on in life. But that won't stop him from making his triumphant return in the new Gilmore Girls Revival Event Series set to stream on Netflix in the very near future.

Yes, TVLine is reporting that Lorelai's (Lauren Graham) beloved mutt Paul Anka all be back along with the rest of the returning cast, and he'll be sticking around for all four feature-length episodes. Though it is not yet known how he will factor into any of the stories.

Lorelai adopted Paul Anka in Gilmore Girls Season 6 to cope with Rory not being around so much. The dog entered the single mother's life while she and her daughter were going through a rough patch in their relationship. And he arrived to help fill the void. The faithful dog remained by Lorelai's side all throughout Gilmore Girls Season 7 and was last seen in the series finale.

The Gilmore Girls Revival Event Series has already lined up quite a few returning cast members. The main cast is already in place, and shooting new episodes, with Lauren Graham (Parenthood), Alexis Bledel (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), Scott Patterson (Saw V, Saw IV), Kelly Bishop (The Good Wife), Keiko Agena (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) all announced earlier this month.

Also returning is Supernatural star Jared Padalecki, who will reprise his role as Dean Forester, Rory's (Alexis Bledel) first boyfriend. Amy Sherman-Palladino is the creator and executive producer. Daniel Palladino is also an executive producer. They are both writing and directing the series. Gilmore Girls (WT) is produced by Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The Gilmore Girls Revival Event Series will consist of four 90-minute episodes that are being crafted as "mini-movies." These episodes are said to be set in present day, and will unfold over the course of one year.

Each 90-minute episode will encompass one season of the year, winter, spring, summer and fall, with the story encompassing an entire year. The tentative title for the event series is Gilmore Girls: Seasons. It's not quite clear just how old Paul Anka is, especially since the show is set in present day. And it is not confirmed if this is in fact the same exact dog that acting in the show the first time around.
