A behind-the-scenes Glass featurette has been released and it gives a new perspective on the comic book movie genre. M. Night Shyamalan shocked everybody with the release of 2016's Split, and he's preparing to bring the narratives of said movie and Unbreakable together with Glass. To say that the movie is highly anticipated would be a massive understatement, so it's cool to get a peek behind-the-scenes to see how the project came along during the height of the comic book movie boom.

From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn along with Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and his 23 identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only prisoner to survive her encounter with the Beast. Sarah Paulson joins the cast as Dr. Ellie Staple, a psychiatrist specializing in delusions of grandeur who treats patients convinced they are superhuman beings.

In Glass, Sarah Paulson's Dr. Ellie Staple is revealed to be a compassionate character who believes that her way of thinking can help the world. However, Elijah Price and Kevin Wendell Crumb have other ideas. She specializes in patients that believe they are comic book characters, according to M. Nigh Shyamalan. The director says that the delusions of grandeur are occurring because comic books have become a "huge obsession in the world." Paulson says that the movie is an interesting look at the comic book movie from characters who truly believe that they have super powers. This is definitely going to be a lot different from the MCU and DCEU.

Glass also looks to take apart what it means to be a hero or a villain. Dr. Ellie Staple is clinical in her thinking, but she is also able to get close to her subjects. In the behind-the-scenes featurette, we see Dr. Staple walking through a comic book store, more than likely as a way to find a better way to get through to her three new subjects. Bruce Willis' David Dunn is relatively quiet throughout this new look at the movie, leading to some mystery as the Beast prepares to breakout with Mr. Glass. The world is about to get turned upside down, and Dr. Ellie Staple just might have her belief system change by the end.

By the looks of things, Sarah Paulson's Dr. Ellie Staple is going to have a pretty large part in Glass as she tries to get into the heads of David Dunn, Elijah Price, and Kevin Wendell Crumb. Early reviews for the movie have started to hit the internet, and they don't look promising, but a quick glance at social media reveals that fans are still interested in seeing how M. Night Shyamalan connected these universes and these characters. Glass hits theaters on January 18th, and while we wait, you can check out the behind-the-scenes featurette below, provided by the Universal Pictures YouTube account.
