According to Screen Daily, award-winning actress Glenn Close is gearing up to reprise her most famous stage role by bringing the costume drama Albert Nobbs to the big screen. Not only will she act in the film, she will also co-produce as well as co-adapt the screenplay.

The project is set to be directed by Rodrigo Garcia, who has worked with Close before on the 2005 film Nine Lives, as well as the popular drama Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her. Orlando Bloom, Michael Gambon and Janet McTeer are also gearing up to star in the film.

Close will star as a Nineteenth Century Irish woman who must disguise herself as a man to survive the harsh social climate of the time. About the project, Close stated, "I believe in this story and its potential to take everyone on a sensuous, funny, heart-breaking ride."

Filming is set to begin this summer.
