Godzilla is stomping its way towards the SXSW film festival in Austin, Texas this week, and to celebrate, famed Austin-based art studio Mondo have commissioned a new poster designed by Phantom City Creative. The iconic monster is reimagined as an atomic cloud rising from the streets of a destroyed city. The look of this poster was inspired by the original 1954 classic Godzilla, which reboot director Gareth Edwards will be screening at the Ritz Alamo Theater later this week, on Tuesday March 11 at 9:30 pm. This restored version presents the original Japanese movie with over 40 minutes of footage not seen in the American release. Attendees will receive this limited edition poster, and maybe even a sneak peak at the new Godzilla reboot, in theaters this summer.
