Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is a 2022 monthly five-issue miniseries written by Cullen Bunn, with art by Freddie E. Williams, and colors by Andrew Dalhouse. Some fans have already noticed that this crossover event seems to be taking place in the early timeline of the Power Rangers, with Tommy still serving as the Green Ranger. The variant cover above also teases an epic battle with the Dragonzord. For those that have been keeping up with the Power Rangers comic book series, this upcoming event isn't even their first official crossover. Writer Cullen Bunn recently spoke about the upcoming crossover while mentioning how creating this miniseries has truly been an honor. He previously worked on several comic book series such as Captain America, Wolverine, Venom, and Deadpool. "I am honored to bring two iconic franchises like Godzilla and the Power Rangers together. I've been a massive Godzilla fan since before I could read, and my love for the King of Monsters has never faded in all those years. Likewise, I've always loved Tokusatsu superheroics, and vividly remember watching the first episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers when it came out. This is a crossover that I suspect will take readers by surprise—but it makes complete sense! Writing for these characters is a dream come true for this giant monster-loving kid-at-heart, and when readers pick up this book, I want them to feel that sense of awe and wonder that these characters have inspired for decades!"

The artist for Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Freddie E. Williams, also shared his thoughts on the upcoming comic book event. "This will be the biggest, most stratospheric crossover I've ever drawn! It's the combination of so many big genres: Giant Monsters vs. Mechs, martial arts vs. science and magic, with lots of collateral destruction! I've been watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episodes and Godzilla films to submerge my brain space, and have been reminded how fantastic and charming these designs are and how much fun prior creators had with their designs. I'm excited to contribute to the long legacies of these franchises!"

In other Power Rangers news, the long-running television series recently underwent its latest evolution in its 28th and 29th season with the debut of Power Rangers Dino Fury. It was also recently revealed that a new series of interconnected Power Rangers shows and movies are in the works, helmed by I'm Not Okay With This co-creator Jonathan Entwistle at Netflix. With currently no exact release date, Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will be releasing its first issue sometime in March 2022. Who do you think will claim victory in this epic face-off?
