According to Variety, Gold Circle Films has bought remake rights to South Korean hit romantic comedy My Sassy Girl, which DreamWorks recently put into turnaround.

Helmer Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham) is directing an adaptation penned by Vic Levin. Lensing is set to begin in the spring.

Vertigo Films and Maverick Films will remain on the project, producing with Gold Circle, which paid in the mid-six-figures to close the deal.

Sassy Girl, the No. 2 pic at the South Korean box office in 2001, is about a dolt who falls in love with a loud-mouthed, aggressive girl who doesn't hesitate to vent her frustrations in public.
