Awards show madness has officially kicked off in Hollywood, as the nominations for the 77th annual Golden Globes have arrived this morning. The nominations were made live direct from Los Angeles, California.

Ahead of the pack for movies this year is director Noah Baumbach's Marriage Story. It picked up a total of 6 nominations, more than any other movie this year. It is up for Best Film Drama, with stars Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver both garnering nominations. Baumbach got one for best director. Randy Newman is nominated for Best Score. And Laura Dern is up for Best Supporting Actress.

Close behind was Martin Scorsese's The Irishman with five nominations, making this a very good year at the Golden Globes for Netflix, as both movies were made specifically for and by the streaming service. Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood also scored five nominations, though it is in the Best Film Comedy or Musical Catagory.

Joker was also nominated, as many expected it would be. It came in with 4 nominations, with both Joaquin Phoenix scoring a nomination for Best Actor and Todd Phillips' getting recognized for his work as director.

On the TV side of things, it is a packed and crowed house. HBO's Chernobyl was pushed up beside Netflix's The Crown and Unbelievable. All three shows managed to nab four nominations apiece.

We'll get to find out the winners when Golden Globes 2020 is broadcast on NBC January 5. Ricky Gervais will host the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards for what he is calling one final time.
