First, co-star Ke Huy Quan took home the Best Supporting Actor trophy at Tuesday night's 80th Golden Globe Awards cermeony. Now, it's Michelle Yeoh's turn to celebrate. A24's hit film Everything Everywhere All At Once is cleaning up a bit at the ceremony with multiple wins. Yeoh's leading turn in the Daniels' latest masterpiece is the role of a lifetime — or perhaps several lifetimes, given the film's multiverse premise — as a mom in distress.

For those not familiar, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are collectively known as "Daniels." Their debut feature before this latest A24 outing was Swiss Army Man, which was also generally well received, but didn't exactly reach a wide audience. And now, Everything Everywhere All at Once has been deemed by many as the best of 2022.

Yeoh is no stranger to the big screen. She has starred in countless films, many of which have become cult classics. Some of her most noteworthy acting credits include the James Bond Film Tomorrow Never Dies, 2000's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and 2018's Crazy Rich Asians. Fans couldn't be happier that Yeoh has taken home the Golden Globe tonight. Here's a closer look at her performance in EEAAO.

Michelle Yeoh was born in Malaysia, and in her youth, she was an accomplished ballet dancer who experienced an injury that caused her to cut her ballet career short. However, after winning a string of beauty contests in her home in Malaysia, she was discovered by a film producer. She then began acting in action-packed films such as the 2008 movie The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Empire starring Brendan Fraser. It's safe to say that Tuesday's trophy won't be the only award Yeoh will get for her EEAAO performance during this awards season. The role allows her to play different versions of her character across a wild multiverse of sorts. It's the perfect part for Yeoh to showcase her acting range which has been arguably underrated over the years.

For those who haven't seen EEAAO, the sci-fi adventure storyline follows an exhausted laundromat owner (Yeoh) who can't seem to finish her taxes, only to be pulled by forces greater than her own across different lifetimes and versions of her existence in an effort to save the world from destruction. The film is a blast from start to finish, combining incredible fight choreography with hilarious jokes in a stunningly dynamic fashion, bringing to mind the master of the works of Stephen Chow and Jackie Chan. In effect, on top of Yeoh showcasing her acting range in the film, she can also show off those martial arts skills of hers. Following the grand success of EEAAO, cinephiles can't wait to see what's next for the Daniels, Ke Huy Quan and, perhaps most importantly, Michelle Yeoh.
