ABC has acquired the rights to Goldie Hawn and Marta Kauffman's new hour-long drama series. According to Variety, the property is based on Sara Davidson's nonfiction novel Leap! What Will We Do With the Rest of Our Lives?

Kauffman, creator of the popular NBC series Friends, is writing the pilot. Hawn is attached to star as part of the ensemble cast. The pilot revolves around how certain people approach different crossroads in their life.

ABC's Steve McPherson stated, "What Marta and Goldie did was take the simple premise of the book and put together this really insightful look at how two different generations deal with the big moments we all face in our lives. Everything she said felt so true and honest and compelling. A lot of people try to do these multigenerational thirtysomething-like shows, but they're never about anything. This is about something: What you're going to do with the rest of your life."

There was no word on when the series would go into production.
