In a story from Variety, Universal has picked up an as yet to be named script by Michael Gilio. The goal is for this to be a project for Gore Verbinski to direct.

The untitled project looks at a retired rancher who loses all his money in a phone scam.

"The script taps into the shaken trust the public has toward once-trusted institutions and examines how the people behind these institutions are sometimes themselves as much victims of the same blind trust," said producer Jonathan Krauss.

Initially the script was titled Black Hole but it isn't called that any longer. The film will be made via Verbinski's Blind Wink Productions shingle. The director will make the film with Scott Aversano.
