Director Gore Verbinski is in talks to reunite with Johnny Depp with the new movie project The Lone Ranger, according to Deadline New York.

The last we heard about this project was back in February when we reported that screenwriter Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road) had come aboard to write the script. If Gore Verbinski signs on, he would reunite with Johnny Depp, who is attached to star as the title character.

The Lone Ranger would be Gore Verbinski's first live-action film since his last movie with Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It doesn't seem that a deal has been signed for Gore Verbinski yet, but it was said he's, "getting serious" about directing The Lone Ranger.
