Just a few weeks after Morena Baccarin was promoted to a series regular on Fox's Gotham, the series has upped Nicholas D'Agosto (Harvey Dent) and Chris Chalk (Lucius Fox) to series regulars for the upcoming second season. It isn't known how many other recurring characters from Gotham Season 1 will be promoted, but we reported earlier this week that the show will introduce two new villains in Gotham Season 2, both of whom are from the DC Comics. Here's what executive producer John Stephens had to say about what fans can expect from Chris Chalk's Lucius Fox in the second season.

"(Lucius) becomes another person who's going to help Bruce on his journey to find out what happened to his parents and what his parents were doing, and also his journey to manhood and Batman-hood. [Adult Bruce is] like a science genius, and some of that's going to come from Lucius Fox."

Chris Chalk's Lucius Fox only appeared on one episode of Gotham last season, the penultimate episode "The Anvil or the Hammer", but he clearly formed a bond with young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) as one of the few Wayne Enterprises employees who was not corrupt. Nicholas D'Agosto's Harvey Dent appeared in three episodes, the aptly-titled "Harvey Dent", "Lovecraft" and "Everyone Has a Cobblepot". In Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, Harvey Dent was played by Aaron Eckhart, who later became the villain Two-Face. While Morgan Freeman played Lucius Fox.

Gotham will return for Season 2 sometime this fall, airing Monday nights at 8 PM ET, followed by the new series Minority Report at 9 PM ET. Are you glad both of these characters are returning for Gotham Season 2?
