After their panel at San Diego's Comic-Con, Fox released a sizzle reel for Gotham Season 3, which includes the very first look at the upcoming Season 4. The sizzle reel comes to us courtesy of the official Gotham YouTube channel. The bulk of the 6-minute sizzle reel was dedicated to season 3, which took place 6 months after the events of Season 2. Gordon became a bounty hunter working to track down Indian Hill experiments that escaped, as well as reviving Fish Mooney. Later Gordon has to deal with the Court of Owls working on behalf of Ra's al Ghul, Penguin, and Ivy.

Not much is known about what will happen in season 4 of Gotham except that Crystal Reed has joined the cast as Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Don Falcone. She is a strong, calculating character that has run the Falcone operation in the south for the last 10 years and is now returning to Gotham to help Gordon attempt to take down the Penguin. Season 4 is also supposed to see more of a shift from Bruce Wayne to Batman. As evident in this latest footage, Scarecrow is going to make quite the impression. In addition, there's supposed to be a Harley Quinn-like character, that will definitely not be Harley Quinn and Gotham will apparently never see the Harley Quinn character involved in the series.

It is unclear if Bruce Wayne will fully transform into Batman for season 4, but it has been heavily hinted at that the Wayne character will see a major change and that sounds like a pretty big change to me. Fans have been waiting for quite sometime to see if Gotham gets into the beginnings of the Batman story. It seemed highly unlikely during the last few seasons, but it is a definite possibility now, though it might not take place until the end of season 4 to prep for season 5 with the Caped Crusader.

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Zabryna Guevara as Sarah Essen, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin, Erin Richards as Barnara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina "Cat" Kyle, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma, aka the Riddler, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mahoney, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Nicholas D'Agosto as Harvey Dent, and Maggie Geha as Ivy "Pamela" Pepper. As mentioned previously, Crystal Reed has been added to the cast as well to play Sofia Falcone. And to reiterate, Barbara will not be transforming into Harley Quinn, so don't get your hopes up.

Season 4 is already shaping up to be a different kind of experience that the past 3 seasons and is sure to draw an audience on its new night. Season 4 of Fox's Gotham will make its return on Thursday, September 28th, 2017 at 8 PM. The show is moving form its normal Monday night slot to become the lead-in for Seth MacFarlane's new series The Orville.
