Death Ray Films announced today that it is fast-tracking the development of Journies, a rom-com that takes place in the online Hollywood journalist community.

The film is being developed as a starring vehicle for Jaime King (Sin City and the upcoming Mother's Day) and will be written and directed by Grant Boucher.

Journies is a romantic comedy about an aspiring online journalist who gets the scoop of a lifetime when a one-on-one interview turns into an unexpected date with Hollywood's hottest young ingénue.

Robert Sanchez elaborates, "It's Notting Hill with a touch of Entourage for the younger, hipper, Comic-Con crowd," said Sanchez. "Grant's writing is amazing and his take on our story nailed it." Plus, partnering with Jaime King is quite exciting for me, I've been a fan of her for years."

"Sanchez know of what he speaks," added Boucher. "Clearly the idea behind Journies was drawn on his decade of online journalism. I don't know anybody else that knows the ins and outs of that community better than he does. His experiences drew me in immediately."

Grant Boucher's background includes writing for both the Star Wars and Dungeons & Dragons universes and as an award-winning visual effects guru on Star Trek and Titanic.

Robert Sanchez, Kyle Newman and Jaime King are producing.

Death Ray Film's Robert Sanchez is the executive producer on the fantasy thriller I, Frankenstein, currently in pre-production over at Lakeshore Entertainment to be directed by Patrick Tatopoulos with a July 2010 start date.
