Now that we are in the age of reboots, so many shows and movies are being remade and redone with new cast members and fresh faces. Gravity Falls, one of the best Disney shows that ended far too soon, was one of the best. Since the show stopped airing in 2016, fans have begged the creator, Alex Hirsch, to either continue the series or make a reboot. Hirsch has stated that while he would love to continue the world of Gravity Falls, it’s ultimately up to Disney to revive the beloved show. To this day, the series has a rampant fan base, with people buying merchandise and constantly lobbying Disney to bring it back.

Gravity Falls follows twin siblings, Mabel and Dipper, who spend their summer vacation with their Uncle Stan, also known as Grunkle Stan. Stan owns a Mystery Shack, a tourist attraction that earns him money throughout the year by encouraging people to view the weird things found in Gravity Falls. At first, the siblings aren’t too excited to spend their summer vacation in the middle of nowhere, but they quickly come to learn that Gravity Falls holds a lot more secrets than expected, full of mythical creatures and a villain known as Bill Cypher. The series is perfect for someone who enjoys sci-fi-related shows with comedy and heart balanced within them. It is also a good follow-up if you enjoyed the miniseries Over the Garden Wall. There are so many characters that come and go in the town of Gravity Falls, so here’s a list ranking the best.

10 Waddles

Disney Television Animation

Waddles is Mabel’s pet pig, and he deserves a spot on this list simply because of how cute he is. Mabel wins him at a county fair and promptly dedicates her life to making sure he has a great life, often spoiling him and letting him follow her wherever she goes. In an episode entitled "Little Gift Shop of Horrors," Waddles gets the chance to speak, and he’s voiced by none other than Neil deGrasse Tyson.

9 Candy

Disney Television Animation

Candy and Grenda come as a pair, but both deserve separate spots on this list because of their friendship with Mabel. Candy is a sweet girl who’s quiet and unpopular, finding solace in Mabel once the ladder discovers how kind she is and how she can also be an asset when things get dicey. Throughout the series, Candy reveals she has a crush on Dipper, which he refuses to acknowledge, and she’s deeply in love with the boy band Sev'ral Timez.

8 Grenda

Disney Television Animation

Grenda is the opposite of her best friend Candy in almost every way. Instead of sweet and quiet, she’s abrasive and loud, her voice deep and a bit masculine instead of dainty like Candy’s. Grenda is the muscle of the group and often uses her strength to her benefit as she gets her friends out of situations when they need her abilities. It’s hinted at through several moments in the show that Grenda is transgender, and while the show's creators never confirmed that it was true, many fans have made the idea cannon.

7 Wendy

Disney Television Animation

Wendy is the cool older girl who works as a cashier at the Mystery Shack and whom Dipper is hopelessly in love with. Wendy is chill and nonchalant as she hangs around the shack and often proves to be tough when crazy things happen throughout the town. Even though Dipper has a massive crush on her, she doesn’t let it deter her from being a good friend to both siblings, often helping them out when they need it the most. Wendy has some character development as she breaks up with Robbie and instead focuses on herself, encouraging young people that they don’t need to be in a toxic relationship to be happy.

6 Ford Pines

Disney Television Animation

Ford Pines is the twin brother of Stan, and for almost the entire series, he was missing. As voiced by the great J.K. Simmons, once Ford returns, it’s revealed that he only has six fingers and was the creator of all three journals. He was missing for decades, and when returning to the Mystery Shack, it was revealed that he spent his time in a different dimension, traveling through wormholes and the like. At the end of the series, the bond between the twin brothers is restored as they set off to go sailing around the world to find more strange things.

5 Bill Cipher

Disney Television Animation

Bill Cypher is genuinely one of the scariest villains in a children’s animated television series. There’s something about the way he’s shaped and colored—a neon yellow triangle with a black top hat on his head. Before he’s revealed in an episode entitled "Dreamscaperers," Bill is often referenced and can be noticed through quick flashes in previous episodes, making you wonder what the heck that just was. Bill is a dream demon, proving to be merciless as he briefly possessed Dipper’s body before Mabel forced him out. Bill's voice, the casual way he speaks when he tells his siblings about his plans to take over the world, is one of the things that makes him a great villain.

4 Soos

soos
Disney Televison Animation

Soos, voiced by Hirsch, is often the comic relief in this sometimes dark show. His catchphrase, which he uses in almost every piece of dialogue he says, is "Dude." He works at the Mystery Shack as a handyman and proves to be a good friend and reliable adult for both Mabel and Dipper. Even though Soos is supposed to be a not-so-smart individual, he proves that he can do more than meets the eye with his abilities to keep the kids safe as well as eventually running the Mystery Shack by the end of the series.

3 Stan

Stan Pines
Disney Television Animation

Grunkle Stan, voiced by Hirsch, is the opposite of his niece and nephew simply due to the fact that he’s often rude, abrasive, and greedy. He runs a tourist trap in his small town and often takes the money of people who have visited several times, always coming up with a new display in order to rake in more cash. Though he has flaws, Stan does in fact love his family very much and proves to be protective over them when he learns of what Dipper is doing with his journal, revealing that he also has a journal, but the first one instead of a duplicate. Throughout the first season, the audience is unaware that he’s desperately trying to get his twin brother back, so when Stan proves to be selfless, it’s a shock to all.

2 Mabel

Mabel Pines
Disney Television Animation

Mabel Pines is older than Dipper by five minutes, and throughout the series, she doesn’t let him forget that fact. Mabel is a great main character because of how unserious, goofy, colorful, and relatable she is as she falls in love with a zombie. Mabel is the optimist of the group, always one to look on the bright side, whereas Dipper is usually the one to overthink the situation. She has a big heart and makes sure everyone around her knows that she loves them, especially Stan.

1 Dipper

Dipper Pines
Disney Television Animation

Dipper Pines is the youngest of the twin siblings by five minutes and is a dedicated brother to Mabel. Dipper, whose real name is Mason and who got his nickname from a birthmark on his forehead, is an adventurer who has trouble staying in one spot. Danger often calls his name, and with his trusty journal with the number 3 printed on the front, he often chases after trouble with little to no hesitation. Dipper is a reliable character who balances Mabel out when she gets too intense, with his sister doing the same for him.
