Grease is Still the Word as the Iconic Movie Musical Returns to Big Screens Nationwide This April for its 40th Anniversary. It's a high school reunion unlike any other as Grease, the timeless cultural phenomenon starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, returns to U.S. movie theaters this April to celebrate its 40th anniversary in a special presentation from Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and Paramount Pictures.

For two days only, Sunday, April 8, and Wednesday, April 11, Grease will be presented as part of the yearlong TCM Big Screen Classics series. TCM Primetime Host Ben Mankiewicz will join in the fun by offering special commentary both before and after the film, which will play at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (local time) each day.

Tickets for Grease can be purchased online at www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in more than 700 select movie theaters through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). A complete list of theater locations is available on the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

An explosion of song and dance that made an indelible impact on popular culture when it was released in 1978, Grease boasts an unforgettable soundtrack that includes "Greased Lightnin'," "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee," "Summer Nights," "Hopelessly Devoted To You" and "Beauty School Drop Out," among others. Forty years later, the film remains a feel-good celebration that's perfect to watch with friends or for a memorable date night.

Directed by Randal Kleiser (The Blue Lagoon, Summer Lovers), Grease was not only the highest-grossing film of the year in 1978, but it remains the second-highest-grossing movie musical of all time. The film's extraordinary cast also includes Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Stockard Channing as Rizzo, Jeff Conaway (Taxi) as Kenickie, Didi Conn (Benson) as Frenchy, '50s teen idol Frankie Avalon as the Teen Angel, plus TV icons Sid Caesar, Eve Arden and Dody Goodman in memorable supporting roles. Said Tom Lucas, Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations.

"Whether you've seen it dozens of times and know the words to every song, or you're in for the rare treat of seeing it for the first time, watching Grease on the big screen with an audience is an unforgettable experience that we're delighted to offer movie lovers."

Grease will also be available in a new 40th Anniversary Edition on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital April 24, 2018 from Paramount Home Media Distribution. You can check out the original trailer from Paramount pictures to get back in that swinging mood for this iconic classic.
