The CW is in final negotiations to bring Green Arrow to the small screen as a hour long superhero drama.

The DC superhero first appeared in an 1941 edition of More Fun Comics, Green Arrow is a superhero dressed like Robin Hood who is an archer using trick arrows, including glue, net, tear gas and even kryptonite arrows. His secret identity is billionaire Oliver Queen.

David Nutter is circling the project to direct with Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti's studio-based Berlanti Television producing. This will be the second superhero pilot for the producers this season. This series will also mark the character's return to the CW where it was a regular on the Superman-inspired Smallville. The superhero was portrayed by Justin Hartley, who is not going to be involved with the new project.

CW president Mark Pedowitz spoke about the direction for the networks superhero attractions at last years TCA,

"We're looking next year to do a superhero show if the right superhero comes to be," CW president Mark Pedowitz
