John Stewart is just one of many Green Lanterns on Earth, and he will be the focus of the upcoming animated movie, Green Lantern: Beware My Power. The character has existed within DC Comics for over 50 years, however, his popularity skyrocketed through Phil LaMarr's portrayal in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, two DC TV shows that aired in the early 2000s.

Now, John will be on the biggest stage with Beware My Power, an origin story for the character showing him gaining his powers, learning how to use them, and of course, fighting sinister villains. The official synopsis for the film reads:

Recently discharged Marine sniper John Stewart is at a crossroads in his life, one which is only complicated by receiving an extraterrestrial ring that grants him the powers of the Green lantern of Earth. Unfortunately the ring doesn't come with instructions - but it does come with baggage, like a horde of interplanetary killers bent on eliminating every Green Lantern in the universe. Now, with the aid of the light-hearted Green Arrow, Adam Strange and Hawkgirl, this reluctant soldier must journey into the heart of a galactic Rann/Thanager war and somehow succeed where all other Green Lanterns have failed.
