When Warner Bros. announced their full DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU) slate, the last movie on their release calendar was Green Lantern Corps., which hits theaters June 19, 2020. As of now, the studio hasn't announced any cast members, a screenwriter or director. But with more than four years left until this movie hits theaters, there is still plenty of time to find the right creative team. That hasn't stopped a slew of rumors from surfacing, and today we have another unconfirmed report claiming that there will actually be three different Green Lantern characters in this movie.

There has long been speculation that Green Lantern Corps. will feature Hal Jordan and John Stewart from the comics, who are both Earth-bound characters, along with several Green Lanterns from various parts of the galaxy. Today's report from Latino-Review claims there will be another Earth-based Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner. This report also claims that the studio is seeking an actor within the same age range of Matt Damon (45) for Hal Jordan, while both John Stewart and Kyle Rayner will be played by younger actors.

Kyle Rayner was created by writer Ron Marz and artist Darryl Banks, and first appeared in Green Lantern vol. 3, #48 in 1994. He was introduced as part of the "Emerald Twilight" storyline, where Rayner took over the Green Lantern mantle from Hal Jordan, who was the sole Green Lantern for years until the late 1990s. He later was promoted to the Honor Guard Illustres of the Corps, and eventually became a White Lantern, after mastering all seven of the Lantern rings. Before he acquired a Green Lantern ring, Rayner was a Los Angeles-based graphic artist, whose father lived a double life as a CIA agent.

Last month, producer Charles Roven confirmed that they don't plan on introducing Green Lantern until at least Justice League Part 2, which is scheduled for release on June 14, 2019. There is only one movie that debuts between Justice League Part 2 and Green Lantern Corps., Cyborg, which is scheduled for release on April 3, 2020. Production is already under way on Justice League Part 1, which is slated for release on November 17, 2017, but it isn't known when shooting will begin on Justice League Part 2 quite yet.

Actors such as Tyrese Gibson and D.B. Woodside (Lucifer) have expressed interest in playing John Stewart in Green Lantern Corps, but it isn't known if the studio is actively casting for any of the Green Lantern Corps. roles. It isn't even known which of the Green Lantern characters will be introduced first in Justice League Part 2, but it's possible that the movie could feature all three of the Earth-based characters, Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner. We'll have to wait and see. Hopefully we'll get more details on Green Lantern Corps. soon, so stay tuned for more details.
