Some good news for fans of Green Lantern – according to the film’s producer Donald de Line, the movie is right on track to begin shooting in Spring of 2009. FirstShowing.net spoke to the producer, who confirmed that the project is coming together.

De Line says that he just got a new draft of the script and that they’re gearing up to begin shooting in early spring. Although he said that a shooting date is not yet confirmed but “it's coming together and I'm excited about it. Hopefully we'll make it to start gate. We're really close – really close.”

Greg Berlanti (Everwood) is still confirmed to direct Green Lantern, from a script written by Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green. At this time, no casting announcements have been made – other than the confirmation that while his image was used in the concept art, David Boreanaz is not in consideration for the role.
