Greg Berlanti has set his sights high for his adaptation of DC Comics' Green Lantern. In an interview with MSNBC.com, where he was discussing his executive producing duties for Brothers & Sisters, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone, the 35-year old spoke a little about his writing/directing duties for Green Lantern.
Berlanti is writing the script along with two collaborators, and is also scheduled to direct. This will be the second film Berlanti has written and directed, the first being The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy.
"I came to Hollywood to do movies," the self-professed comic book geek says, inspired by the work of Steven Spielberg, Barry Levinson and Ron Howard. "They were storytellers in a way that I like to try to do with TV, which is really smart, emotional stories that are hopefully still heartfelt and funny. I'd like to try and do that for film."
Details remain sparse about Green Lantern, including which version of the character Berlanti plans to use in his film. Stay tuned to SuperheroFlix and MovieWeb for more information as it becomes available!
