According to Variety Greg MacGillivray will be making a documentary that looks at 50 years of Hollywood surfing movies.

Sam George is co-directing and writing this project.

The major focus on the film will look at the 1978 production of Big Wednesday. That film was written, directed and produced by John Milius.

The untitled film will also include footage shot by Thomas Edison in 1906 from Hawaii. It will include interviews with "Kathy Kohner (the real-life Gidget), surfers such as Greg Noll and Mickey Munoz along with Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola and Quentin Tarantino."
