According to Variety, Warner Bros. Pictures has hired Australian-born Gregor Jordan to direct action drama Under and Alone, which Mel Gibson and partner Bruce Davey are producing through their Icon Prods.

Gibson was originally supposed to star in the pic but changed his plans because of directorial project Apocalypto.

Under is based on the real-life story of William Queen, an ATF undercover agent who infiltrated the notorious and violent San Fernando Valley chapter of the Mongols motorcycle gang.

Daniel Barnz and Ned Zeman penned the script. Casting hasn't been announced.

Under and Alone marks the second studio feature Jordan has signed onto since helming acclaimed indie Buffalo Soldiers, for Miramax and Good Machine Intl., and Ned Kelly, which was distribbed by Focus Features.
