Last month, director James Gunn revealed that production has wrapped on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, while confirming that the sequel will have a presence at Comic-Con. Since filming just wrapped, it isn't known if the director has cut a trailer together yet, but over the weekend, the director did tease that fans will see something from the sequel, while sharing a new photo from the set featuring Chris Pratt. When asked about what might be shown during Comic-Con, the director had this to say.

"Well, you might see something if you're in Hall H on July 23 with me and the Marvel panel. Or if someone secretly films that - which is less likely to happen because of new technology, but I still know sometimes happens - then you'll see it right after. If not then, it will be a short while."

As for the set photo, it also teases that there are exactly 300 days until Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017. Since that photo was posted yesterday, the countdown continues today with 299 days until the release. This photo also features a rather intense man staring at the camera, who James Gunn confirmed on Facebook is Lars, the sequel's first assistant director. Unfortunately, not much else can be gleaned from this image, but hopefully we'll get more as the post-production process continues.

Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand. Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) are all set to return, along with a number of new cast members.

New additions to the cast include Pom Klementieff as Mantis, along with Kurt Russell, Elizabeth Debecki, Chris Sullivan and Tommy Flanagan. Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone have also been cast in this superhero sequel, but no details about their characters have been given at this time. While we wait for more details, take a look at this new photo from the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 set, along with James Gunn's tweets below.
