Filmmaker James Gunn took to his Twitter page today to reveal that he has finished the first draft of his screenplay for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Naturally, the filmmaker wouldn't divulge any story details, but he did hint that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 may have a subtitle, like many of the Marvel movies before it. Here's what the filmmaker had to say below.

"Phew. 1st draft #GotG2. #NoSpoilers #NotEventheTitle"

Marvel first announced that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was happening at Comic-Con 2014, just before the original Guardians of the Galaxy became a surprise hit last summer. The studio had never previously announced a subtitle for the sequel, but the filmmaker's cryptic tweet seems to hint that the title might be much more than just Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Of course, revealing said subtitle would likely give away a major plot point the studio isn't ready to disclose yet, so it may be quite some time before we learn what the full Guardians of the Galaxy 2 title is.

The filmmaker revealed in early April that his story treatment was complete, and that he was starting work on the actual screenplay itself. Of course, the filmmaker will likely go through a few more drafts of the script before production begins in February 2016, and all we know about the story so far is that fans will learn who Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) real father is. Along with Chris Pratt, the rest of the Guardians will be back, including Dave Bautista (Drax), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Vin Diesel (Groot) and Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), but no other characters have been confirmed at this time. While we wait for more details, check out James Gunn's tweet below, and stay tuned for more on Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
