Zoe Saldana would like to see Gamora return in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, she claims to be unsure if her character is returning at all, and if she does, the actress wants to see the evil version. We were able to see Gamora return for a bit in Avengers: Endgame, but it is unclear whether or not she survived Tony Stark's snap at the conclusion of the movie after she started to help out the Avengers in their battle against the Mad Titan.

Watching Gamora get thrown off of the cliff on Vormir in Infinity War was not an easy thing for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans to witness. Thanos made the sacrifice to get the Soul Stone and it took its toll on him. It was a shock and added more heartbreak to the Guardians crew, who really already had a pretty bad string of luck to begin with. Zoe Saldana attended the ACE Comic Con in Seattle over the weekend and was obviously asked about returning for Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Zoe Saldana had this to say.

"It all depends. The technical answer is it all depends on what Marvel and James Gunn desire to do with the Guardians and with Gamora's fate. I would eventually, there's a part of me that wants her to go back, find her way back to the Guardians but there's also a part of me that wants to explore a bad Gamora. I've never seen that and she's, you know, she's considered the most lethal assassin, the most lethal woman in the galaxy so I would want to see what that wrath looks like also because it would just give me layers to sort of work on. But yeah, I want her to get back to the Guardians."

Endgame concluded for the Guardians with Star-Lord having a humorous back and forth with Thor. However, before that, he was looking for Gamora on the Benatar's tracking system, adding to the emotional weight. Before Infinity War and Endgame hit theaters, the Russo Brothers and Kevin Feige talked about the deaths being final, which would mean the same for Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff too. But, this is James Gunn's story to tell and he already has his screenplay finished. When recently asked about Gamora's fate, the Russo Brothers said the story was for another day, but did imply she was snapped away with Thanos and his army.

Will Gamora come back for Guardians of the Galaxy 3? She probably will in some form or another. Like Zoe Saldana says, it all depends on James Gunn's script. Saldana more than likely already knows her character's fate, but she can't tell the general public about one of the biggest spoilers for the upcoming final installment in the Guardians series. For now, Marvel Studios will do their best to keep everything under wraps until the movie hits theaters, which is the standard order of operations.
