The summer reality competition series So You Think You Can Dance kicked into high gear this week, with performances by the Top 16 finalists on Wednesday and a special performance on Thursday night by Fergie and Ludacris. Renowned choreographer Debbie Allen served as a guest judge on both shows.

The three couples who received the fewest votes after Wednesday's performance show were: Lauren Gottlieb and Neil Haskell; Sara Von Gillern and Jes&#250s Solorio; and Anya Garnis and Danny Tidwell. Jessi Peralta also was deemed to be in jeopardy after missing Wednesday's show due to illness. After each of the seven dancers performed a solo routine, the judges eliminated Peralta and Solorio from the competition, ending their quest to become America's favorite dancer. Peralta, 24, is a Hip-Hop dancer from Rockledge, FL, who lives in Valley Village, CA; and Solorio, 23, is a Contemporary/Jazz dancer from Paso Robles, CA. Fergie and Ludacris performed the hit single "Glamorous" from Fergie's latest CD, "The Dutchess."

When television's hottest show returns in two weeks, Adam Shankman, director and choreographer of the upcoming movie Hairspray, joins the panel as a guest judge, and the remaining 14 finalists (Kameron Bink, Cedric Gardner, Anya Garnis, Jaimie Goodwin, Lauren Gottlieb, Neil Haskell, Sabra Johnson, Hok Konishi, Pasha Kovalev, Shauna Noland, Dominic Sandoval, Lacey Schwimmer, Sara Von Gillern and Danny Tidwell) compete as couples once again on the performance show Wednesday, July 11 (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The following night, the judges will send two more dancers home, and Hilary Duff will perform "Stranger" on the live results show Thursday, July 12 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).
