A newly released behind-the-scenes look at Halloween Ends teases the final battle between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. Released via the official Twitter account for Halloween Ends, the footage finds returning star Jamie Lee Curtis discussing what it’s like to bring the character’s decade-spanning journey to an end after all these years.

"It's a movie about a final reckoning between Laurie and Michael,” Curtis says in the clip, before revealing why she believes Michael Myers has remained a horror icon for so many years. “Michael Myers in that mask represents pure evil. There is no rhyme or reason. Everybody’s worst nightmare come to life. This experience in the movies that is the beauty of Halloween.”

Halloween Ends is all set to pick up four years after the events of last year's Halloween Kills. Laurie Strode is now living with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing writing her memoir. Meanwhile, Michael Myers has not been seen since his last brutal rampage. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham, is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can't control, once and for all.

The culmination of the conflict between The Shape and Laurie promises to be more violent than ever before as the pair come to blows for the final time. Unfortunately, according to Jamie Lee Curtis, Laurie will not be as ready for the fight as she should be. "Every day of her life, since she was 17 years old. This is a movie where she's actually moved on. Laurie doesn't see Michael coming," the actress revealed.

Continuing, Curtis teased the level of violence that will be on display, as well as revealing why Laurie is unprepared. "The fight with Michael is much more violent, unexpected, and it has to be like a street brawl,” she said. “This movie...this other character comes in that she's concerned about, but she's not thinking about Michael. And then Michael comes back. And so the fight was an unexpected fight."

The highly anticipated slasher finale will find Jamie Lee Curtis starring as Laurie Strode for the last time, with Halloween Ends acting as a conclusion to the decade-spanning conflict between the babysitter-turned-survivalist and the serial killer Michael Myers, who will be played once again by James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle.

The rest of the cast consists of Andi Matichak as Allyson Nelson, Laurie's granddaughter; Will Patton as Deputy Frank Hawkins; Rohan Campbell as Corey Cunningham; Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, one of the children Laurie babysat way back in 1978; Michael O'Leary as Dr. Mathis; and Omar Dorsey as Sheriff Barker.

Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier, Halloween Ends is scheduled to be released on October 14, 2022, by Universal Pictures. The slasher sequel will also stream simultaneously on paid tiers of Peacock for 60 days.
