Will Michael Myers finally kill Lindsey Wallace after more than 40 years? That could very well be the case, as Kyle Richards will return to the role in Halloween Ends. Back in 1978, Richards, who was a child star at the time, appeared as Lindsey in the very first Halloween movie from director John Carpenter. She made her return to the franchise over four decades later by appearing in this year's sequel Halloween Kills. As it turns out, that won't be the last we've seen of Lindsey Wallace.

Per Variety, Lindsey was not scripted to return in Halloween Ends, even though she manages to survive in Halloween Kills. However, the filmmakers noticed the positive response from fans over her return in Halloween Kills, and the script was rewritten to include an expanded role for Lindsey. It's good news to know there's more to come from the character, but it's also a bit scary, as bringing her back also means she could finally get die by Michael's hands after making it all of this time. Several returning characters were killed off in the last movie, after all.

“When my character didn’t die, I was like, ‘Uhh, hello!'” Richards recently told Variety, questioning why she wasn't originally planned to be brought back. “The last movie, I saw Jamie on the set, but we didn’t have stuff together. So I’m really hoping that there is more stuff together. I can’t talk about any storylines, but all I can say is that we start filming in January, and I’m so excited to return with Jamie Lee Curtis and David Gordon Green.”

Producer Jason Blum added, “We are thrilled that Kyle will be reprising her role in Halloween Ends. The return of iconic characters in Halloween Kills was really important to David Gordon Green. And he took great pains to bring back the original actors when he could.”

Indeed, several actors returned from the original movie, and along with Richards, that also included Nancy Stephens and Charles Cyphers. Tommy Doyle, the young boy who was babysat by Laurie Strode alongside Lindsey in the first movie, was recast with Anthony Michael Hall; original Tommy Doyle actor Brian Andrews later said he felt "hurt" by the recasting, and fans had launched a petition for him to come back to the role.

Jamie Lee Curtis is also coming back for Halloween Ends, playing the role of Laurie Strode for what will likely be the very last time. Fans will know that Laurie has tussled with Michael Myers in different timelines, but Halloween Ends seemed to be designed to conclude the decades-long feud between the two once and for all. Even so, Jason Blum has said that he's still open to developing more Halloween movies after Ends, but it wouldn't be as a part of the same story, delving elsewhere into the Halloween lore.

Halloween Kills is streaming on Peacock for anyone looking to give the sequel a watch. Halloween Ends is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on Oct. 14, 2022.
