A new teaser for the finale in the Halloween franchise, Halloween Ends, aptly teases the final battle between slasher killer Michael Myers and Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode. Released courtesy of the official Halloween Ends Twitter account, the footage finds Laurie looking as determined as ever to finally bring the horrors of The Shape to an end after all this time. You can check out the new teaser for Halloween Ends below.

After 45 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie Strode faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers, in a final confrontation unlike any captured on-screen before. Only one of them will survive.

Halloween Ends is set to pick up four years after the events of last year's Halloween Kills. Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn't been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the spectre of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell; The Hardy Boys, Virgin River), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can't control, once and for all.

Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier, Halloween Ends sees Jamie Lee Curtis reprise the role of Laurie Strode, the sole survivor of Michael Myers' 1978 killing spree, for what she has now confirmed to be the eighth and final time.

“Well, you know, endings are a b*tch, and endings are very difficult to do in a very satisfying way,” Curtis said of her final moments as Laurie Strode. “The last shot [filmed] was [part of] a night shoot and I was in a car—it was a close-up of me in the car. And when we got out of the car, it was 4:30 in the morning and there was the picture of my face on the screen.”

Halloween Ends Will Not Necessarily Be the Last Time We See Michael Myers

While the title Halloween Ends suggests that this will be the final time audiences sit down to watch Michael Myers do what he does best, producer Jason Blum has since revealed that the masked killer could continue on beyond the release of the legacy trilogy finale. "I didn't say it's gonna be the last Halloween movie,” Blum explained. “It's our last Halloween movie. We have no more rights to make any more Halloween, so it goes back to Malek [Akkad] and what he does, only he knows, but we are done. This is our last one, and I think people will be very happy."

Starring Andi Matichak, James Jude Courtney, Nick Castle, Will Patton, Rohan Campbell, and Kyle Richards alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Halloween Ends is scheduled to be released on October 14, 2022, by Universal Pictures.
