343 Industries, Xbox Entertainment Studios and Scott Free Productions have come together to produce an upcoming adaptation of Bungie's hit sci-fi video game Halo. Ridley Scott is producing with Sergio Mimica-Gezzan directing.

The digital feature project will be set in the 26th century and is said to follow the same format as Machinima's Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. It will not follow the series' protagonist Master Chief. Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring is writing the script.

Sergio Mimica-Gezzan has previously directed TV episodes for multiple shows including Under the Dome, The Bridge and Falling Skies. They are expecting to release the project by the end of this year. Microsoft will likely release more information about at E3 in June.
