During a recent interview with THR, the Halo series lead star Pablo Schreiber discussed the challenges he faced in bringing the iconic character to the small screen. “There’s this expectation because a huge portion of the audience has played the game believing they are the Master Chief,” he says. “And now here I am, attempting to play it. This is a 180-degree turn. It’s a very tight box, especially early in the series, trying to find the sweet spot of restraint and figure out this guy’s inner life.”

The Halo star also went on to discuss the reality of wearing the famous Master Chief armor during production: "It's 50 pounds of plastic and the suit is meant to make you superhuman — it enhances the Spartan's capability for his performance tenfold. In reality, it's the opposite. It's a challenge to manipulate a cumbersome costume and find ways to shoot it, so it looks like you're super capable." While there are no further details pertaining to the recent announcement of season two, Pablo Schreiber did mention the opportunities the series has when it comes to moving forward with the story: "There's so much opportunity for transcending being a sci-fi show, a superhero show, or a video game show and just be legitimately great television that happens to be exploring those genres."

Halo will be available for streaming on Paramount+ on March 24. The upcoming television series will consist of a total of 9 episodes with roughly 50-60 minute runtimes. Currently, Halo has an estimated budget of $200 million, with episodes being directed by Otto Bathurst, Jonathan Liebesman, M.J. Bassett, Roel Reine, and Jet Wilkinson. Details pertaining to the second season are currently being kept under wraps.
