During the Xbox 20th Anniversary event, a teaser was revealed, giving us a very first look at the upcoming Halo series that's officially arriving next year. The 27 second clip posted by Paramount+ reveals our very first close up look at Master Chief, while also confirming the release date to be taking place sometime in 2022. If you also watch to the very end of the brief teaser clip, you'll also recognize a familiar voice saying "Hello, Master Chief". You can watch the first teaser for the upcoming Halo television series below.

The recently released teaser includes a series of extreme close-ups of Master Chief both with and without his armor, while also showing the live action versions of his gloves, 117 insignia, the back of his head as he's putting his helmet on, and of course ending it with a shot of the front of Master Chief's helmet. With no confirmation as of yet, its quite obvious that the voice in the end of the teaser is none other than the voice of Cortana, which is believed to be played by Jen Taylor. The voice actress also played the role of the artificial intelligence character in the mainline video games. The upcoming Halo television series was originally intended to be released on Showtime before relocating to Paramount+.

Halo is an upcoming American live-action military science fiction television series based on the video game franchise of the same name. The current synopsis for the series reveals that it will follow "an epic 26th century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure, and a richly imagined vision of the future." The Halo series will star Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey (a scientist for the UNSC, and creator of the Spartan-II Project), Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha, Charlie Murphy as Makee, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosky (Director of ONI), Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Olive Gray as Miranda Keyes, Kate Kennedy as Kai-125, Natasha Culzac as Riz-028, Bentley Kalu as Vannal-134, Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes, and Jen Taylor as Cortana (an artificial intelligence AI construct).

Reporters from IGN were previously given a look at Pablo Schreiber's Master Chief behind closed doors, and were extremely impressed with what they saw. "The photo shows Chief seated alone on a ship. Everything from Schreiber's detailed costume to the inside of the vessel feels very authentic to the Halo video game franchise." The upcoming television series had gone through many development issues in the past starting back in 2015, with changes in producers, directors, and even showrunners. The COVID-19 pandemic was also a huge factor during the development stage as well.

With no exact release date currently given, it is now confirmed that Halo will premiere on Paramount+ sometime in 2022. The upcoming television series will consist a total of 9 episodes with roughly 50-60 minute runtimes. Currently, Halo has an estimated budget of $200 million, with episodes being directed by Otto Bathurst, Jonathan Liebesman, M.J. Bassett, Roel Reine, and Jet Wilkinson. There are reportedly already talks for second season, but the series has not been given a greenlight yet.
