French movie studio Gaumont has formed a new TV company entitled Gaumont International Television. One of its first projects moving forward is Hannibal, which centers on the classic Silence of the Lambs character Hannibal Lecter.

Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller wrote the pilot script, which is said to focus on Lecter's early relationship with FBI profiler Will Graham. Anthony Hopkins portrayed Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, and Red Dragon. Edward Norton starred as Will Graham in Red Dragon. It is believed that this series will pre-date Red Dragon.

Bryan Fuller is executive producing Hannibal with Martha De Laurentiis, who produced Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, and Red Dragon.

Gaumont International Television is also developing Madame Tussaud, based on the book by Michelle Moran, which centers on the illustrious French woman's life as an artist, businesswoman, and entrenpreneur.
