DC has been at the top of its game recently when it comes to its cinematic/televised output and longtime fans of the comics are hyped to finally see their favorite heroes and villains get the proper on-screen respect that they deserve. Despite the covid pandemic keeping people inside and staying away from theaters, DC and HBO Max were able to pair up and make a deal to keep putting out fresh content.

Projects like James Gunn's rendition of The Suicide Squad along with its immediate spinoff series Peacemaker were both considered to be two of DC's best creations in years. DC has also taken to making several animated projects on the HBO Max platform as well. But one particular animated project that DC fans can't wait to see more of will be arriving later this year, and that's season 3 of Harley Quinn. The highly popular anime starring Kaley Cuoco as the titular character has been reported to arrive on HBO Max sometime in 2022 (no specific dates yet) and while season 2 answered the show's most-asked question, it left fans with a laundry list of new ones that season 3 will have to deal with.

Harley & Ivy's Relationship

The series' ultimate tease came into full fruition during the closing seconds of the season 2 finale as Ivy was left at the altar by Kite-Man and forced to confront her true feelings for Harley - luckily for audiences and shippers of the two BFFs, Ivy stopped lying to herself and acknowledged her true loving feelings for Harley. The only issue with the otherwise perfect ending to the season was that the creators didn't know if the show was going to get a season 3 and wanted to give Harley and Ivy a happy ending if season 2 was going to be it. Luckily for fans, the show rated well enough to get a season 3, but that now leaves the show the task of answering the daunting question - will Harley and Ivy stay together?

Yes, the two girls love one another and have proven that time and time again, but they've also proven that they're just as capable of butting heads and disagreeing with each other. With a season 2 ending literally driving off into the sunset, it would've been assumed that their relationship would turn out just fine. But with more content (and undeniably more drama) on the way, it's safe to assume that the two girls will run into a few relationship bumps in episodes to come.

Kite-Man Had To Rip The Band-Aid Off

Poor Kite-Man. Despite the fact that he was never the right person to be with Ivy, it still hurt to see him come to the realization that Ivy was never going to truly love him the way he loved her. What made it all the worse was that the goofy hero had to rip the band-aid off himself since Ivy was in denial and couldn't admit to Kite-Man that she didn't want to marry him in the first place. However, regardless of his failed nuptials to Ivy, Kite-Man isn't some secondary character that the show can just cut out now. Not only that, he's quickly become a fan-favorite among audiences, and they would be devastated if the last they ever saw of his majestic green kite was him flying away from Ivy and the burning church. So, even though he won't be on Ivy's arm anymore, Kite-Man still deserves a happy ending - and fans want to see it.

King Shark's Marriage

HBO

This storyline felt as though it was meant to be a one-and-done episode when King Shark revealed that he was betrothed to another shark named Tabitha. The episode itself was spent focusing on Harley and Ivy hooking up for the first time so King Shark's storyline seemed to be a non-important B-story that would fizzle out.

Instead, King Shark spontaneously married Tabitha by the end of the episode (agreeing to an open marriage but in private to keep up public appearances) and even brought her to Ivy's wedding in the finale. The two of them got lost in the ruckus of the GCPD attacking all the villains at the ceremony, but rest assured that fans will want conclusive answers to this aquatic relationship when season 3 rolls around.

What happened to all the Villains?

HBO

As already stated, season 2 ended rather abruptly by giving Harley and Ivy their happy ending, while almost every other DC villain was busy grappling with Lieutenant Gordon and the GCPD. The episode ended with no conclusion to the aftermath, but it's hard to imagine everything in Gotham going back to normal after a battle like that. Other villains from the series (such as Darkseid, Dr. Psycho, The Riddler) also have unanswered plotlines to explore. Will Darkseid make good on his promise and return to terraform the Earth? Will Dr. Psycho and Harley make up and go back to being allies? Will The Riddler stay as jacked as Bane, or will he shrink back down to his puny self? So many questions for season 3 to answer and luckily fans shouldn't have to wait too long to get them.
