It was a three-horse race on the DVD charts this weekend, with two newbies and a holdover each scoring a win. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay took the top spot on the DVD sales charts for the week ending August 3, but it was as close a victory as can be. Sales numbers indicate that the difference between Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay and close-second-finisher Stargate: Continuum was fewer than 200 units.

Three other newcomers fared nicely on the sales charts as well, with Never Back Down in fourth place in sales, Doomsday in fifth place and the direct-to-DVD sequel Lost Boys: The Tribe finishing in sixth place in sales.

On the rental side, holdover 21, last week's top seller and rental, kept its rental crown for a second week, although it slipped to third place in sales. Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay came in second place on the rental charts while newcomers Doomsday took fourth in rentals followed by Never Back Down in fifth place.

Stargate: Continuum was victorious in high-def as the top Blu-Ray seller while Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay finished in second place on the 1080p charts.
