Ezra Miller, who is set to play The Flash in Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2, is in early talks to join another one of Warner Bros.' major franchises, the Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. If a deal is finalized, the actor will portray Kredan, described by Variety as, "a person with magical powers who encounters magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) when he stops in New York City on his travels to find and document magical creatures."

The story is set 70 years before Harry Potter first joins Hogwarts, following Newt Scamander, a "magizoologist" who studies magical creatures. In the Harry Potter movies, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the name of an actual textbook used by Harry and his classmates. Katherine Waterston is also set to star in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as Tina, a magician based in the U.S. who also meets Newt in his travels to New York.

There are still two main roles left to cast, Queenie, Tina's younger sister, and Jacob, one of Scamander's rivals. Sources claim that director David Yates' top choice for Queenie is Alison Sudol (Dig), while Josh Gad and Michael Cera are meeting with the filmmakers next week for the Jacob role. Author J.K. Rowling makes her screenwriting debut with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which has already been given a November 18, 2016 release date. Ezra Miller will next be seen in The Stanford Prison Experiment and Trainwreck, both of which hit theaters on July 17, along with his stand alone The Flash movie, debuting in 2018.
