Harry Styles made a cameo appearance in the post credits scene of Eternals as Eros/Starfox and although Kevin Feige has made it clear that Eros will return, Styles himself has suggested that he will not be returning to making movies “for a while.” This means fans should settle in for a bit of a wait until they next see the brother of Thanos return to the MCU.

Former One Direction singer Styles has made a solid mark in Hollywood with starring roles in Dunkirk, the psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling with Florence Pugh and will soon be seen in My Policeman. However, he is not ready to turn his back on his love of music in favor of a permanent acting just yet and has suggested that he will be focussing on his Love on Tour world tour in the immediate future and that means he won’t be returning to the MCU just yet either. While discussing his MCU role with Rolling Stone, Styles commented:

"It'd be funny if that was it, wouldn't it? I don't imagine I'd do a movie for a while. I think there'll be a time again when I'll crave it, but when you're making music, something's happening. It feels really creative, and it feeds stuff. A large part of acting is the doing nothing, waiting thing. Which if that's the worst part, then it's a pretty good job. But I don't find that section of it to be that fulfilling. I like doing it in the moment, but I don't think I'll do it a lot."

Of course, this does seem to fit with everything that is currently known about Marvel’s upcoming plans, as Starfox’s return would most likely be linked to a continuation of the Eternals story and that is not on the cards for at least the next few years, which would give Harry Styles plenty of time to do a bit of music in the meantime. All of Marvel’s focus is on the Multiverse Saga, and it is more likely that the Eternals will not return until further down the line in another saga.

Marvel Studios have a plan for the MCU that spans roughly the next decade. The Multiverse Saga kicked off last year with the Phase 4 release of WandaVision and will continue through to Avengers: Secret Wars at the end of Phase 6. Although there are still some gaps to be filled in the lead-up to that climactic movie, there has been no sign yet that an Eternals sequel will be coming until Phase 7 at the earliest. However, Kevin Feige has promised that Harry Styles will be back as Eros sometime in the future. He previously said:

"The adventures of Eros and Pip is something that is very exciting for us. You're talking about Ghost Rider, we've got Blade, we've got Doctor Strange with the supernatural angles, we've got the street level with our announcement of Daredevil and of course, Spider-Man, and cosmic, and that's where our friends Eros and Pip live."
