Back in May, we reported that Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan was being eyed to possibly star as Johnny Storm in 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four remake. While this hasn't been confirmed by the studio yet, Schmoes Know is reporting that the actor has in fact signed on to play The Human Torch.

The site's source is reportedly from the actor's talent agency, although it remains to be seen if and when the studio will confirm the news. Last week, the actor said he was "definitely interested" in the role, although he gave no indication that he was even in negotiations or close to signing on. If confirmed, the actor will reunite with his Chronicle director, Josh Trank.

If this news proves to be true, that still leaves Reed Richards (Mr Fantastic), Sue Storm (The Invisible Girl) and Ben Grimm (The Thing) left to be cast for the reboot. We reported earlier this month that Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) and Jack O'Connell (300: Rise of an Empire) are up for the Reed Richards role, while Saoirse Ronan (The Host), Kate Mara (Transcendence) and Margot Robbie (About Time) are reading for Sue Storm. We haven't heard of any actors trying out for the Ben Grimm role as of yet.

We reported earlier this month that Simon Kinberg is the latest writer to work on the script. Jeremy Slater, Michael Green, Seth Grahame-Smith and T.S. Nowlin have worked on previous drafts.
