The first teaser trailer for The Hateful Eight was shot before the movie, so it contains no footage from Quentin Tarantino's next Western epic. It truly was a teaser. But now, we get a look at three of the eight with EW's latest magazine cover. Seen in full costume are Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

The cast was caught rehearsing on a soundstage in Hollywood this past April, where Samuel L. Jackson was seen delivering one of his sure to be iconic monologues from The Hateful Eight, portraying Major Marquis Warren. In the scene, he must shoot a hapless victim inside the rustic interior of Minnie's Haberdashery. The story finds 8 of the Old West's nastiest gunslingers trapped in a snow storm at a frontier way station. About the scaled down size of his 9th film, director Quentin Tarantino states:

"For me it has more of a Western Iceman Cometh kind of vibe about it. A bunch of guys in a room who can't trust each other. That wasn't a marching order when I sat down to write the script, but pretty quickly I realized this is kind of a nice coming-full-circle."

Also seen on the cover are Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue and Kurt Russell as John Ruth. About appearing in her first Quentin Tarantino movie, Jennifer Jason Leigh says:

"I knew Quentin, but I had never had a chance to work with him, and I really wanted to."

On newstands this week, the latest edition of EW will contain a behind-the-scenes expose on The Hateful Eight. It also has more with director Quentin Tarantino and his cast. The movie itself will be in theaters just in time for awards season this winter. In the meantime, take a look at three of the nasties Westerners the world will ever see:
