Ryan Gosling is in talks to join Guillermo del Toro's long-gestating project Haunted Mansion 3D. Guillermo del Toro recently moderated a panel at the South By Southwest Film Festival last month for Ryan Gosling's directorial debut Lost River, and they were also spotted at Disneyland over Oscar weekend, riding the Haunted Mansion ride together and others such as Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad and Pirates of the Caribbean. No details were given for what character Ryan Gosling may portray.

Back in July, the director revealed that he may not direct Haunted Mansion, and that they have not cracked the story quite yet. The Wrap reports that D.V. DeVincentis (High Fidelity, Grosse Pointe Blank) is currently working on the script, although there is no indication about when production may begin. If Ryan Gosling does sign on, it will mark a reunion of sorts with Disney, since he was one of the Mouseketeers in The Mickey Mouse Club, and one of his early movie roles was in Disney's Remember the Titans.

Guillermo del Toro's next movie, Crimson Peak, hits theaters this October, and he also has Pacific Rim 2, Frankenstein and Dark Universe in development. Ryan Gosling's directorial debut Lost River arrives in theaters and VOD formats tomorrow, April 10. He will next be seen in The Nice Guys alongside Russell Crowe.
