Despite some nit-picking by fans, Obi-Wan Kenobi has been a huge success on Disney+, and as it heads into its finale, Hayden Christensen has been teasing that climactic battle between Kenobi and Darth Vader that everyone is now waiting to see. Of course, we have already seen the pair come to blows earlier in the series, and with Vader defeating Kenobi, it will be interesting to see how far the Jedi Master has come when they face each other again.

As well as Ewan McGregor’s return as Kenobi, fans have been thrilled to see Hayden Christensen back in the Star Wars franchise as Darth Vader, and as Anakin Skywalker in some flashback sequences. While the whole thing has been an unexpected resurgence of love for the actor and his prequel role in the Star Wars franchise, the question of whether he will continue beyond the series is something that Christensen has teased himself. However, before any of that, there is still a score to be settled between Vader and Kenobi, and that is something the actor teased white speaking to TV Line. He said:

“There's a lot of resentment there. Not only did he lose his best friend and his master, but he also lost all of his limbs, too. I think he probably has a bit of a grudge over that. There's a strong need to find Obi-Wan and settle the score.”

Thanks to details about the amount of time Hayden Christensen was on the set of Obi-Wan Kenobi, it was expected that his time on screen would be relatively short. While that has proved to be true, it was wrongly assumed that Darth Vader would also be only seen towards the end of the series, when it was expected he would face off against Kenobi just the once. However, that his clearly not been the case and instead fans have seen Vader as a dominant presence in the series from the start.

What has become clear as the series of Obi-Wan Kenobi has progressed is that the Darth Vader seen here is the Sith Lord at the height of his power, even more than in his original Star Wars trilogy appearances. With one epic battle having take place between the former master and student, and Vader having shown the extent of his strength in Episode 5 of the show, everything is now in place for a final episode that is going to deliver everything the series promised and hopefully leave the door open for more stories of Kenobi and Vader to come.

While both actors have hinted their would return to their roles again, and director Deborah Chow commenting that there are certain more stories that can be told between the series and the original Star Wars: A New Hope, there has been no word on whether Obi-Wan Kenobi will return again, or whether Vader will be given his own exploratory series. However, like all things, answers will come in time.
