While HBO handed out good news for Enlightened with a Season 2 renewal, the network dished out some bad news as well, cancelling Hung, Bored to Death, and How to Make It in America.

Hung closed out its 10-episode third season in early December. The show dropped significantly in the ratings, with just 930,000 viewers tuning into the Season 3 finale, compared to 2.1 million viewers who watched the Season 2 finale. Bored to Death and How to Make It in America closed out their eight-episode seasons in late November. Bored to Death was down sharply this season as well, with just 240,000 tuning into the Season 3 premiere, well off the 1.1 million viewers it drew for its Season 2 premiere.

HBO has a slew of new shows it will debut in 2012, such as Luck, Veep, Girls, Life's Too Short, and Angry Boys.
