In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, HBO's documentary division picked up the TV rights to Fixer: The Taking of Ajmal Naqshbandi.

This documentary, from director Ian Olds, recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this past Saturday. The film follows an Afghani fixer, a man who is paid to translate for and help Western journalists. It focuses on his relationship with American reporter Christian Parenti.

Naqshbandi is eventually kidnapped and put to death by the Taliban. The film explores the effect this had on his family and friends.

HBO will premiere Fixer: The Taking of Ajmal Naqshbandi in August.
