It seems that HBO wasn't bored with its brand new series, handing out the network's third speedy renewal of the year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO has picked up Bored to Death after its third episode this past Sunday hit a series high in ratings.

The show's third episode, this past Sunday, followed the Seinfeld reunion episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm and hit a series-high 1.1 million viewers, up over 50% from last week. The viewership was 1.5 million combined with repeat broadcast on Sunday night.

It wasn't clear how many episodes were ordered for the second season, or when it would premiere. The network also issued similarly-fast pickups for its new series' Eastbound & Down and Hung.
